One happy dog!
Your Date a Dog event in Sept 2010 changed our lives - that is where we met Muttley, the newest member of our family. My son Jake (11 years old) and I attended the event in Den Bosch, hoping but not expecting, to find a dog that would fit in well in our home. We already have a cat, guinea pigs, and two kids, so finding the right match would not be straight forward, we suspected. Muttley was one of the last dogs to be introduced that day, and was the only dog we wanted to date. That said, we enjoyed the day and would have left with a smile even if we had not met Muttley.
After a brief date, and a 20 minute stroll through the park, we were convinced that Muttley was the one. After some negotiations at home (Papa still needed to be won over!), we decided to pick him up at the dierenasiel in IJsselstein later that week. And he has been a loving and loveable member of our family ever since!
We are so happy with him, and I dare to say, he feels the same way. Yes, he has a couple of behavioral issues (don't we all?) but certainly nothing that we can't overcome, or even accept, if that is the choice. He gives us so much happiness, he's worth it all.
All this to say, thank you so much for your Date a Dog initiative. What a brilliant idea, and so well executed, too. I can appreciate what it takes to get this done well. Hats off the Date a Dog team!
Thanks from all of us,
Carrie, Armin, Jake and Ben....and Muttley!
